AQUA PHYSIOTHERAPY & SWIMMING FOR DISABLED ADULTS & THOSE RECOVERING FROM INJURY OR SURGERY
The Club was formed for adults with physical disabilities and medical conditions that would benefit from hydrotherapy exercises or swimming. This includes people recovering from surgery, stroke or accident, as well as many types of arthritis, MS and Parkinson's.
We meet at the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove every Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30am to 10.30am. The sessions comprise of 30 minutes of group exercise conducted by a qualified Physiotherapist, if you wish to join in, followed by 30 minutes swimming. After the exercise session, the Physiotherapist will be able to offer one to one advice and assistance if required.
We have exclusive use of the pool. The sessions are not too crowded and Members show consideration for each other. Members are encouraged to bring helpers if assistance is required with changing or in and around the pool.
We are a very friendly Club and always welcome new Members with open arms. We even meet for coffee after each session and social events are organised.
